So I had an incident on my honeymoon where a transmission cooling hose popped off and dumped some ATF on the road. I was in the middle of no where Upper Peninsula MI and a gentleman stopped and checked on us and went and grabbed me some ATF from the only gas station around but there was no ATF 4 around. I filled it with about 1.5qts of ATF Type F and 1/2qt of Dex 6. Drove back to the cabin 100 miles no issues and final filled it today with 1.5qts of ATF 4 and that filled it up all the way to full. Will there be any major issues within a 1000miles of having a little bit of the wrong ATF in there I know ? So far been 200miles and it shifts great and drives fine but have about 800 more miles to go on the trip. Mechanic crack for attention.

IMHO, get it changed before the drive back. The concoction of friction modifiers between the three different ATF's may lead to your clutch packs slipping way more than they should be.

The last thing you want is this....

If I can get it to last the 1000 miles ill be happy since engine and trans are being swapped out this winter for something better regardless.

I like living on the edge so I'd just drive it. whats the worst thing that could happen ? It could go out in the middle of nowhere in a full blown huricanator with no cell service and your new wife giving you the stink eye then you have to have it towed home ! Naw that'll never happen, I'd risk it and just go with it.
