After reviewing the posts below on TJ wheels im pretty sure i have ecco wheels but was hoping someone could confirm; pic below. Id like to keep something with the OEM look for the 97 year TJ Sport. https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/wrangler-tj-factory-specifications.71/#post-183 If they are pretty close to what was on the 97s ill do my best to remove the oxidation and clean them up.

- Are these eccos and pretty close in year to a '97? The build sheet for my tj said it came with the steel wheels but not looking to replace with them.

The tires 31x10.5R15LT BFG all terrain ko2s the PO installed are reaching their end of life. Im getting a little rub on the upper control arms and i think i could probably put a washer or two on the steering stop to fix this. One thing I didnt like was how challenging it was to get the lug nuts on the stock spare tire carrier with the increased width of the tire. With this jeep being a restoration project and needing new springs im looking at the H&R or moog springs. The H&R give a 1" lift while the moogs are OE stock for the TJ Rubicon's so im thinking a bit stiffer. The tj will be stock for the most part, no winch and OE style bumpers.

- looking at the 30x9.5R15 BFG ko2s as a replacement. Im thinking this will be a better tire/wheel combo, decrease the width a bit and only a 1" reduction in height. Anyone have a recommendation for H&R/moog springs or thoughts on the wheel/tire combo?

Ya but in 97 they had grizzly wheels. Close though. I think 30-9.50s are great for a stock looking Jeep. I would love to get some for mine but man, they are expensive. So I stick with 235-75-15. Little bit wider than 30-9.50s and a little shorter but close.

You sound like you're running pretty much my setup: H&R springs, 31X10.5 K02s, Ecco wheels. A single lock washer on the steering stops was sufficient on mine. Getting the lug nuts started on the spare carrier can be a challenge until you figure out how to do it, then it isn't bad - BUT - I didn't like how they tightened up WAY too much without anything to tell you when to stop, so I did this:

The nuts alone weren't quite enough, so I added some lock washers and now the tension SEEMS (to me) to be about the same as stock. YMMV and all that...

Thank you! Ill take a closer look at the 235/75R15s.

What do you think of the H&R springs? For the spare carrier did you replace the lugs to something longer or just install the back nut/lock washer as a tightening stop?

They're springs - the seem fine. Didn't replace the lugs - I can "just" get the nuts started with the wheel on.
