Annual Phoolz run is going to be April 5th (Saturday). Chinaman Gulch.

Recommendations for Chinaman Gulch:

35 inch or bigger tires
At least 1 locker
Rocker armor/skids
Winch
Recovery points on your rig
Tools

This trail is possible on 33s with good spotting. This trail is a day trip so plan on a good 6 hours to complete, plus your travel to/from Buena Vista. Bring a lunch, snacks and liquid refreshments.

If we get too many rigs, we'll stagger the start times.

Meet up at the Gunsmoke truck stop in Johnson's Village starting at 9:00 am and leaving for the trailhead by 9:30 am.

Denver area folks can caravan from (usually @tworley @jjvw or @rasband leave from there. I'll be heading straight to BV):

Phillips 66
16283 Morrison Rd
Morrison, CO 80465

Depart time of 7am sharp.

i got so excited i fixed the steering stabilizer and i can’t even go.

Woohoo!

If any CO springs people are going, I'd be down to meet at the Conoco in Florissant to caravan. That's about an hour from gunsmoke so maybe we could meet and leave by 845ish (I hate being late to things)

I wonder if I'll be able to get up that V notch section with spotters, I've always had to go around when I go by myself.

this was the same run. didn’t know it till two days later when i was questioning what the new leak was, the clamps for the currectlync gouged the shock.

and anti rock wants $150 for the new connection rod

Was it the arm that bent? I cant remember...

If so, can you straighten it out with a press?

the arm got bent, which is aluminum, hard to bend aluminum back with out snapping. so i havent tried.

the big problem is the sharft of the heim joints has a wicked bend. i’m going to try and cobble it all back together until i can get a swaylock

I bought my greaseable replacements from Summit. They are worn and clanky too.

RJ wants $50 a piece for a sealed unit. Might be time to pony up though.

I think about it often, but have way more priorities than stuff that works fine but makes a little noise unfortunately. It'll always be a noisy vehicle either way

The FK ones I put on my swayloc aren't far off that RJ price ($43): https://www.summitracing.com/parts/FKB-HJMX8T. Hopefully they last a while, b/c the swayloc provided ones did not. If they do, it might be worth converting the shaft over to the swayloc style.

i’ve developed a high pitch squeak from pulling the dash board.

can’t stand high pitch, the other squeaks don’t seem to bother me as much

Sheesh I think I paid 250 for my entire antirock, that is too much for a non-functional improvement. I think these wide-open heim style joints are a junk design to begin with and will never last long.

Oof yeah that would be annoying. The noise the worn links make are just like a clank or two as they load/unload, not constant or that often even. That would drive me nuts too
