Depends on the computer.

I got a used military spec GETAC computer that is great for the garage (drop proof, waterproof, super bright display that can be read in direct sunlight, etc) and the thumbprint reader works even when you are very dirty.

Give your thumb a 1 second wipe on your pants leg and it will work fine.

Wife can't get fingerprint biometrics to work to save her soul. Many/most people who have worked in the medical field lack readable fingerprints.

Don’t remind me that the 110+ temperatures are coming back.

No kidding. I had an outdoor performance last nite - it was hot, still, and very sticky. I thought my makeup was going to melt off my face before I even got onstage. The Goddess heard my suffering and sent a sudden - and I mean SUDDEN - cool breeze. Temperature dropped 20 degrees in a matter of a few seconds! I was loving it, the Florida natives were bundling up.

I'd rather it stays cold. I don't even wear a coat until it's below freezing. It's a great time to work on the Jeep in the garage. 53F out there today.

I'd LOVE it to be 53* outside.. Or in the garage.

I can attest to not being able to get my thumbprint device not to work due to cuts or burns on my fingers.
