Agree. They were going the same direction, so if the Jeep was doing 55, impact was only 55. Still a hard hit, but this might explain why damage to vehicle was not as major as one would expect.

True but he still had to stay in control after they hit and he must have. They couldn't.

We were in a similar situation in 2020. on interstate got rear ended while we were doing 75ish mph. Totaled our Ford Fusion hybrid. Only the wife saw it coming, she was driving, and my daughter was in the back. Car did what it was supposed to and crumpled the trunk area. Daughter in the back was fine I barely knew we got hit. Wife was able to drive to the shoulder and the car never started again.

The audi, 17 year old driver, that hit us had his front pushed in with all its fluids pouring out. Probably totaled too. Looked worse than the Corvette. Helps the Corvette is mid engine.

The last several days have been warm in the morning , ???? It is warmer on the high ridge than in the canyons / creek bottoms. But who knows .

Normally it is relatively warm at my house, alot of the time in winter its warmer than Denver! One of the reasons I picked out here. It was 37 at 715 😥
