The last time I was in DC I had a Challenger Scat Pack 392 rental with Florida plates.

I saw a Ford Super Doody a few years ago that had similar signage on the tailgate above the CA plate. It said something to the effect of, he was born and raised in Idaho his whole life. Went on to say he'd been in CA on vacation and his truck got totaled and he still had to get his RV home... The Avis tag in the back window helped solidify his claim....
So, moral of the story for any of you hold out CA residents when you go camping/wheeling out of state. Get yourself a handy dandy rental agency sticker and slap it in some windows. It might just save you from some low down red neck shenanigans...
