We have documents with measurements in microns and mils. I have no concept of these dimensions. Give me a spark plug gap and I can relate.

No then it's just a number none of that dividing by 8 crap or whatever you have to do with the caliper markings
Understood.. you should get yourself a pair of dial calipers or digital calipers. You won’t have to convert anything and it will be more accurate.

I had a pair of digital ones but it keeps ruining the batteries somehow so this is what I got
