When we discovered UHF we kids thought they were secret channels. In early 1970's UHF had Benny Hill with nudity. It was worth staying up late for on school nights.

We had two channels that came in clearly, 8 and 11. Channel 2 came in very snowy, channels 4 and 5 extremely snowy and only sometimes watchable. But I remember getting up real early one Saturday morning and playing with that funny dial that didn't click and finding a new station just about the "45" on that dial - which turned out to be KMST 46 that came in nice and clear.

The Benny Hill show made the couch cushion stiff right there by the TV.
Not sure why.
