The Prius caused the accident, by brake checking... You could argue the other person was following too closely or being inattentive, but the Prius driver had no cause to come to a full stop where they did. I think a Judge would side with the driver of the car with the dash cam.
That one person in red that didn't get thrown clear is lucky to be alive.
Person with damage to front of vehicle is at fault. Driver with damage to front of vehicle needs to be sure not to run into things. They were probably texting lol.

I agree. The Prius driver was an ass, but the car following should be paying attention. The Prius driver could have stopped for a squirrel or small animal crossing the road
If folks stop for a squirrel or other small animal in traffic, they deserve to be rear-ended and get a ticket also!

Obviously I disagree. Why? Because brake checking is illegal. The prius driver had no cause to slam on the brakes like they did. The dash cam shows that clearly.
And this is why I keep searching for a good budget dash cam…
A large percentage of trucking companies as well as independant drivers are installing them for that very reason. Law suits are no joke when you have a CDL... You are presumed guilty when you're a professional driver.
I took an emt class but didn't get certified for that reason among others. I'm protected by good Samaritan laws instead of being sued for anything and everything
It's truly sad how a certification, be it a CDL, or medical qualification, paints a target on your back... It should protect you!!
Yep,one of the reasons healthcare is so expensive is the malpractice insurance and lawyer fees involved
