Anybody up for a random meme dump?

Call me SQUARE or whatever is the term now days... I've never tried illegal drugs. Never had a want when I was a teenager (my friends used to say I was high on nature) and joined the Army @17.... So never had a chance or want after that...

I've had some suggest that I try CBD oils for my pain but the VA frowns upon this so I still haven't.

"Square" - now that's a term I haven't heard in decades; but I hear you. I dunno what the current term is either, but it describes me as well. Never tried any of it, not even booze or cigarettes. Didn't see the point.

I've smoked cigarettes & dipped snuff & chewed tobacco & still smoke cigars so I ain't no saint... Don't drink as much as I used to but still drink a little... But never wanted to try other stuff...

Square is the only term I could think of... Nerd to me holds another meaning.. Fuddy-duddy I guess fits too but not to me.

I'm just not HIP man........ I did wear bell bottoms @ one point...

Never done drugs; took one drag on a cigarette at the age of 14 and decided it wasn’t for me; alcohol, though, well…

I do feel sorry for smokers here, though. Smoking has gone from a social pastime which was almost encouraged to a taboo; as it’s a matter of personal choice I feel we have gone too far the other way. (As long as you’re not filling a public space with smoke others have to breathe e.g. pubs. But some European countries have solved that with smoking areas with doors & curtains to keep the smoke from the non-smokers.)

Having had permanent lung damage from second hand smoke, we can't possibly go far enough as far as I'm concerned. My mother and her Goddamned cigarettes. They killed her in the end.

Those damn Bell Bottoms - never was a fan, although I'll wear them as dance costume sometimes. Nerd/Geek has a somewhat different - and better - meaning than it did years back and the term certainly describes me partially. With all that said, I've always though my generation consisted mostly of Fuddy-duddies - I guess as a reaction to the (came of age in the) 60's generation that came before us. *shrug* I've never been HIP, although I use same in dancing - but I'm not "White Bread" either. Whatever - I don't fit in pigeon holes well.

Nerd/geek is not really a derogatory term anymore

Elon Musk is a nerd/geek and how many tens of thousands of the "Cool" kids work for him now?

Actually probably not that many as the ability to catch a ball doesn't really translate to building rockets.

Now the burn term is "Neckbeard".

Now excuse me while I launch my Linux VM...

And I agree with @Zorba on the cigarete smoke.

If someone ate a diet of only cabbage and beans and they were farting constantly around you, you'd want them far away from yourself too.

Ill always remember my grandpa smoking in his Cadillac with the grandkids in the car with the windows all shut and locked

Shit, my mother smoked in the car, in the house, everywhere. And the damn smoke would ALWAYS drift towards me. Stinks worse than a worn out 1950s diesel and is far more toxic. If the Greens want to do something about air pollution, they need to start with cigarette smoke.

"What burn, what a cut, stick your finger up your butt." Haven't heard that term in decades either - when my kid was a teen, it was "dogged". Off to look up neckbeard...

can’t do anything in this stupid state without smelling pot,
want to watch the race on pikes peak. prepare for 12 hours of skunk weed scent,
i didn’t expect that, when i saw Tool at the arena, that was a given. but puffing up at a race?

England or London to be exact had clouds of cigarette smoke outside of every building. Took for granted how little Americans smoke these days. same with Ansterdam

Agreed. Vegas is friggin uninhabitable for that very reason. Last time I went (used to go a lot) I opened up the hotel fridge and it even smelled like it in there.

Years ago I took a GF to a AC/DC concert at the Tacoma Dome ( Before pot was legal in WA) but man could you smell it... It was funny at the time & we both sat there and laughed about it.

Now when I was a smoker I enjoyed being able to smoke on the plane or in a restaurant... Used to go to this movie theater when I was stationed in Germany that allowed you to smoke & have a beer.... The GOOD OLD days...

And now days going to a cigar lounge and having a good cigar & a glass of whiskey or scotch is nice but I get that people who don't smoke don't want to breathe it...
I do get annoyed by the people who get offended when you're outside... Had some lady who didn't like the smell of cigar smoke throw a fit when I was on a wheeling trip and had fired up around the campfire... That's one of my few pleasures is to drink a beer & eat peanuts & smoke a cigar at the campfire...
But I had to go sit 50' away to make everyone happy...
Last time I went wheeling/camping with that group...
