Just confused on what the legality of the full hydro steering had to do with driving it down the highway

I wonder how much cash it would take to replicate this TJU ? It wouldn't be cheap , trailer tail lights and all. Then you would need a good tandem trailer and turbo diesel 1 ton to drag it to your off road trail head . The cost is likely higher than we think.

If it is a clean build not done by some fucktard who butchers stuff together, you couldn't have it done for less than 150 grand.
A good clean stand-alone engine harness that integrates cleanly is about 5 grand, add that to the drivetrain + install and you're looking at 45ish grand to get the drivetrain fired up and running without a t-case.

The belt restraint bar is also set up to paralyze the rear passengers.
