Just purchased a '98 Sport last weekend.

Having an issue with the turn signals. The previous owner made several mods including tail lights and front turn signals. (Side marker lights are deleted.)

When I have the turn signals on (either direction), I get a fast flash. Sometimes, when I'm on the brakes and the signals are on, they stop flashing altogether until I release the brake pedal.

I read through some of the other LED lighting posts and couldn't find anything similar. Front signals are aftermarket. Two wires leading to each. Rear tail lights look stock, but are aftermarket LEDs. See the pictures below.

Do I need a different flasher relay, or maybe an inline resistor? I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to electrical.

Thanks in advance,

-Scot

I can hear it but I can't spot it. Sounds like it's up under the dash close to the instrument cluster. Probably pretty close to the turn signal stalk. I'm not that big but I can't contort myself to see under there. However, my mechanic buddy who is coming over in a couple of weeks is a small guy. I'm sure he'll find it. I'll report back.

It’s in the steering column. I believe for the early model you need EP26.
