First of all, it sounds like there are a lot of Jeeps running around with aftermarket oil pans and they all seem to have M14-1.50 drain plugs - not 1/2" like OEM.

I have a Spectra pan and the sticker on it says made in Canada. It has the metric drain plug with an aluminum crush washer that was leaking after I did my most recent oil change.

I cleaned up the sealing surface to make it smooth (ridge into the paint from crush washer) and replaced it with a rubber O-Ring style Ford drain plug. Cost $9 at Autozone. I should have got the original Ford part but was already at the store so hopefully this "Needa Parts" one will work but it's probably a piece of junk. Ford part is F6TZ6730BA.

Amazing how bad aftermarket stuff is. This is my second aftermarket oil pan. The first one was a Dorman and was misshapen and it leaked at the gasket flange. This one fit good but now having the issue with the drain plug. My next issue will probably be the aftermarket plug I just put in - likely poor quality rubber for the gasket or not the right shape under the flange of the bolt or something.

Here is a pic of the removed drain plug that leaked and the packaging of the new one I just put in.

I’ve always had luck using these Nylon gaskets. I’m not sure if this particular one is the size you need or not though. It’s the one I use on my transmission pan drain plug.

I replaced my drain plug and put in one of those drain petcock things. It has a nipple and I slip a hose over it before opening and it has never leaked and don't even spill a drop of oil on the driveway.
