Hey guys just looking for opinions on what you guys would do. I currently have an O6 Lj impact orange 35s 4.25 zone combo lift Adams shafts position spyder bumpers and rock sliders soft top half doors etc 140000 miles on it. I found a 06 LJR red 92000 miles Up for sale with 5 brand new Arroyo Tamarock A/T All Terrain LT285/75R16 tires
Hard top
Soft top
Bikini top
3” lift skyjacker
New metal cloak rear sway bar links
New front driveshaft joint

I’m thinking about selling mine and picking it up. The guys asking 17500 for the LJR.
Which one would you go with

I get the desire for the unicorn, but man what you've got right now is pretty sweet. That's one of my favorite colors. Does your current rig have lockers?

No but that Rubi at that price and mileage seem tempting especially if I can get closer to say 16500 then sell that hardtop for 2g

Auto or stick ljr? Ive never heard of that tire brand before... sounds cheap though. Premium rubber is really worth it.
Seems like a fair price, but red is probably the least desirable color...

I'd definitely keep what you have. You already know what's been done to it. It looks much better too. Rubi tcase is only useful for rocks IMO.

I like em both. if I owned neither I d go for the Rubicon because it’s an easier build starter. But that said yours can have lockers too and what makes that Rubi better than what you have besides lockers.
Best bet, both. Daily the orange and wheel the red.

That would be a tough choice to make . I would probably keep the orange one that you know and invest in it . I passed up a low mileaged orange LJR in 2013 when we bought ours . At the time I couldn't justify spending the extra $5k . If I had it to do over , I would buy the LJR .

That’s a gorgeous Impact Orange LJ. You know the rig already. Add lockers and regear it to proper ratio. Rubi lockers can go bad and need replaced anyway. I’d stay with what you’ve got.

The big question is why are you considering doing it? Hard to give advice if we don't know your motivation.

Depends on what you plan on doing with it.

If just a street ride then it's just up to which one is more desirable, not a logical choice but more of an emotional.
If you're going to build a mild off road weekend warrior, on no bigger than 35's, I'd go with the Rubi.
If you're planning on a full on rock crawler on tons/40's, I'd keep what you have because all of your "wheeling" suspension is going to be replaced anyway.

Just my 2.03 cents worth :-)

I’ve got a silver and a red and I’d go red every time. I love it.

Impact orange is awesome too. Love solar yellow.

Rubicon has more resale value for sure.

However, I think it all depends on what you want to do with it. All you gain with the Rubicon is the transfer case (only worth it for rock crawling) and the Dana 44 axles / lockers which are really nothing special.

I'd be more tempted to keep what you have, honestly.

Keep what you have. You know what you have vs. unknowns of someone else's Jeep. You have good tires and wheels, the other wheels are recoated and have cheap, smaller tires. The Rubi lockers are over-hyped. Better off installing ARB or E-locker with proper gearing.
