At my local pick-n-pull, I found an 05 Wrangler X with cruise control and a GNTX wiring harness. Deal was I had to pull the whole steering column. Anyways, after installing the cruise control in my 05 Rubicon, selling the harness and steering column, I netted $50, and I kept the leather wrapped steering wheel. So, I took to redlinegoods.com and ordered a custom red & black leather steering wheel cover with new padding. From start to finish, I'd say it took me just over 6 hours to complete & cost was $110 shipped to my door (from Poland). Thought I'd share.

That cover looks great. The pictures on their website looks ridiculous and bloated but yours is perfect. Did you just order their regular cover or something different? Did you remove all the stock leather?

Fixed!
(Looks great btw!)
Haha! Honestly, I was quarantined for 10 days in my garage after testing positive for Covid. I had some fun with it posting daily projects on a Rubicon Owners FB page. Everyday, I'd try to snap a picture of the bottle to show my "progress"...

That turned out absolutely great. I've been on a half-dozen websites looking for a lace-on leather cover for a car I just bought. The stitch-on process looks daunting so I'm just going for a lace-on like I've installed a half-dozen times. How long did you need to get it completely stitched and had you ever done that type of stitching before?

I've never done one before. I removed the oem leather and exposed the bare skeleton wheel. redlinegoods sent new pre-cut padding that fit perfectly. The three area's between the spokes on the bottom half of the wheel were relatively easy. It's guessing how much wax thread you need is the tricky part. The upper half I had cut a piece of thread 6' long and ended up with 3' or so left over Contact cement and super glue was used to hold threads and some leather locations in place as I stitched. I watched the YouTube video for about 10 minutes and gave it a go. I did comment to redlinegoods how the stitching doesn't completely go under the trim of the cruise control switches but I don't think it will be an issue with longevity. They replied that for future orders, they'll add more stitching.
