Someone near me is selling an 03-06 33 Engineering two piece skid plate. I have a 1998 2.5L with an NV3550, blackbox doubler, and bronco D20 tcase that are currently supported by an AX15-style transmission-to-skid bracket.
From prior threads, I understand that the skid-to-frame bolt locations and something vague about the trans mount changed between 02-03. Addressing the frame bolt hole location difference by re-drilling the skid/cross member seems straight forward enough. Something that I am extremely unclear about is the difference between the transmission to crossmember bracket. Posts have said they’re different, but I haven’t seen how. Is it the distance forward or back (if so, which and how much) or profile (if so, how different are the profiles?). They both appear to use the same mounting bushing. Is anyone familiar with how the manual trans brackets compare between the age ranges?
