Here's a quick story since that statement reminded me of something. I know a guy who fell on hard times back in '09-10. He decided to sell his toys, one of which was a Harley. He set it out at the road with a for sale sign for weeks and kept marking the price down, until he got to pay off or just below it. When he couldn't sell it at that price, he hatched a plan to have it "stolen" and disappeared, then he'd make an insurance claim. The deed was done, the bike headed out of state and was taken apart and sold. A week or so later the guy I know made a claim for the "stolen" bike, just to find out he had let the coverage lapse a few weeks before.
