4WD light stays on

The 4WD light stays lit in 2WD. The light goes out in 4 hi and back on in 4 low. Then goes on in 2 hi. Any thoughts?
 
If you haven't already tried, I would pull the transfer case switch and test it while it's plugged in, by gradually pressing the pin with your thumb. The spacing between the inner contacts are extremely close together with the the TC switch. It seems like I recall reading somewhere that those tolerances have led others to have issues too. Worth a look anyway. Super easy to get to and check.

Did you find the cause? I spent the day on the trail and now my 4WD light is doing the same thing in my 06 Rubicon, manual.
