I have a 2003 jeep wrangler tj 4.0. Just did a transmission tune up, changed the filter and gasket & put in new atf+4. I’ve been having this problem prior but it’s gotten worse since the tune up. Automatic, hard shifting from 2-3, then hard shifting back down from 3-2. Any ideas on where to start? I’m hitting 200k miles this week, I’m assuming I’ll be needing a rebuild in the transmission but trying to avoid that for long as possible. Anything helps. Thank you in advance!
At 200k miles that transmission is getting to the point where it's going to need a rebuild.
Were the hard shifts happening before the transmission fluid change?
