$42,000 for a TJ

Yea those axles are less than $1000 here for the pair.

Need to borrow a 40' gooseneck and make a trip out there and buy some Super 60 & Sterling & 14B axles and bring them back here and sell them... But they'd have to be rust free or minimum of rust I guess.

It's like when I was stationed in MD and put a Muncie 4 speed into my CJ5. I paid like $75 for it and was shocked I could get it for so cheap. In WA that same transmission was $300 or more.

I forget how much the conversion wiring harness is for the 1.9 TDI but it's not cheap. And there is a lot of nice tubing work & sheet metal work on there too.

While I think it's maybe a $30K MAX price I still think it'd cost at least $30K to build it. And if you're buying a TJ to build what is that going to cost? We're lucky to find them for under $5K here.

GOod point in the TDI swap and tubing.

TJ's around here that need work are in the $2500-4k range depending on what needs done. You can get one that needs frame repair for sub $2k. However, ones that are in really good shape and low miles here are $20k+.

Here is a local Jeep dealer. These are just a few. They have 3 Brutes that they're asking $70k+ for. Granted a dealer will ask more.

Yep I go drool on that site now and then. And yes you can get a POS TJ for $3K but then how much is it going to cost to repair it?

Sniffin' your butt because of all the stuff you been doing!

We were check everyone's Jeeps out. You just got there so late & were drunk already tired so you don't remember.. ;) 🤣

Next time let’s get drunk AND check each others Jeep’s out. They seem to be better that way!!

Well you know it's been a LONG time since I've been shitfaced... It's the next day I don't enjoy anymore...

But enough about butt sniffen.... Just go buy this Jeep... You know you want it.

I've been pricing building Dana 60's and Sterling or 14B for a while now. Here in the PNW you're not touching a pair of axles for less then $1200 and most times they're $1500 to $2K. Now you need gears & lockers and setup kits & shave kit & hubs and bearings and ball joints or BLE's and $$$$ it all adds up...
And since this is a PNW Jeep I'm basing my prices off that.

Yes I've seen axles go for half our prices in the southeast.

You know, you’ll be east of the Mississippi in a few months. Start looking now and have someone hold them for you to pick up.

At those prices, I wouldn't want any of those vehicles due to what is lacking in the builds.

My trailer isn't big enough and the Jeep takes precedence over anything else....

Well as said already I don't think it's a $42K rig in any shape or form but you can ask anything you want... I knew a guy who's wife had told him he needed to sell his early Bronco. This was in the 80's and he still had a $9K price tag on it... He'd explained to all of us who'd asked, "I did what she told me to do. I put it up For Sale" Now if anyone wanted to pay his price he'd sell it... Of course 8 months later there was still a For Sale sign in the back window.

I didn't read what you wrote. I was referring to the three listings MrJonesjr84 linked.

I wouldn't pay that much for one of those rigs either but one of the Hemi Brutes with Dana 60's would be sweet... But I'm also sure it'd garner $60K +..... Or the last few I've seen went for around that amount.

Couldn't afford one but I can still drool.

I do LOVE the flames and lettering on that Green Jeep... No I don't like the price but it is a great looking Jeep... Wouldn't ever want to take it off-road though.
