As part of my relocation back to make way for 37s, one of the wires on the electrical connector which runs from body harness to the evap assembly broke. Does anyone know if there is a replacement available in aftermarket for this? I bought an evap pump connector with leads from Rock Auto but it’s a four pin, I can’t find this exact connector. I bought de pinning tools on Amazon but also not sure what pins are required. Any help is appreciated.

Looks like the wiring changed in 05 so it's throwing me for a bit of a loop on alldata.

There's a connector for the "Natural Leak Detection Assembly", from the location view it looks like it'd be on top of the tank, though.

Using that name, I found this that looks like it could be a match: https://www.partsgeek.com/my7h7s9-j..._Bz9kAYhM_6y3qfbMqrG1hP2W9An290YaAoVGEALw_wcB

That’s what I thought also but if you look in the description it says “4 terminals.” This is essentially the one I purchased Standard Products

The Mopar connector lookup at

https://connectorrepairkit.mopar.com/

shows a 4 way connector in 03 and 04. In 05 and 06 3 way connector is used for the "Natural Leak Detection Assembly".
The part number given for that 3 way connector is 5014007AB

Searching for that part number, amongst other results gives this one I found on Amazon com

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B087M7MLGB?tag=wranglerorg-20

It's available as just the plug, with 4 crimp terminals or with pigtail wires.

Check the end on view of the connector as it needs to match the exact shape of the one you want to replace if it is going to fit.

I'm sure Alldata has it's place in the world, but somebody is going to have to explain why it is preferable to the actual year-specific factory service manual & parts list.

I wouldn't say it's preferable, that's basically all it is. I have other late model vehicles and it's the fastest way (as in quick vehicle release) to get access to the FSM. I added the LJ because I'm used to the system. For example, my '25 2500HD is the 24+ generation and I was able to get access early this year.

There is occasionally information missing that they have not received from the OEM, which can be frustrating.

In this particular case the information in the year specific references is incorrect for the OP's 04. It's one of those overlap vehicles when parts from an adjacent year are used. If the OP had checked the years either side in alldata I'm pretty sure they have figured they needed the connector to fit an 05.

The link mrblaine supplied for an SMP connector is probably better quality that the one I linked from Amazon as an example. I'm limited to what products I see in the USA, as Google.com defaults to showing mainly UK links to me.

For anyone wanting a connector and loose terminals (without pigtails), those style connectors are Aptiv Apex 2.8 connectors. The black body is key A (other body colors are different keys and key letters). Here's a spreadsheet I put together for my '05 Rubicon when I re-did the rear half of my harness while installing the Atlas and cutting brakes (I highlighted the part numbers for the 3 pin female, but you need to determine what wire gages you're dealing with):

I found three different sources for those connectors, and prices from all were very reasonable (to me, anyway):
  1. WayTek
  2. Custom Connector Kits
  3. Corsa Technic

It's the 2nd time I've seen it lead somebody astray in the past few weeks. It told somebody with a 42RLE that they had the 32RH TCC connector. I don't have Alldata so I'm never going to use it, but neither have I seen anything that makes me wish I had it. YMMV.

I think there is more than just that going on here and it wouldn't be the first time Jeep has done this. His rig is an 04 and should have an actual leak detection pump and not the NVLD system the 05-06 use. The problem here is his connector is a 3 wire, 3 pin which is what the 05-06 uses for the NVLD and not the 4 wire, 4 pin his 04 should have for the LDP. We also know his is an 04 due to the separate TCM. Or, I'm really missing something obvious which someone needs to help us figure out.

Alldata didn't lead me astray, did that all on my own. I noticed that the OP's wire coloring was different than the diagrams for 2006 (which is the version I have), that's why I said that the wiring had changed and linked the earlier version for review.

I got the 05-06 connector, but haven’t wired it yet. It’s a match! Super odd to see the year jump in my 2004 which does indeed have the stand alone TCM so its definitely wired as a 2004 (in the front). Thanks for the help.

Da fuk does this have to do with Cutting Brakes, Boom???

🙂

Glad you found the solution. The forum comes through yet again. Amazing the things we can get answers to here.

Just one step closer to being able to use cutting brakes again. :)
