Try to make a long story shorter but my Aunt has a 2002 Wrangler that she needs to get rid of. She bought it for her 16 year old great nephew to drive and he squandered the privilege. It's been sitting at her house in the garage for a few years. It's the 4cylinder 5 speed manual. My aunt is a single retired lady so I offered to help her sell it. It runs and drives. It's not in great shape as it's a Michigan vehicle. It has some rust everywhere. I've owned rustier vehicles in the past. Even my 2016 canyon is starting to show frame rust. Am I out of line to ask $3000 or best offer for it? Only reason I ask is my listing has had almost 5000 hits in a week but no one has come to look at it. I've heard that there are problems with the frame rusting. At what point do I tell her to drop it off at the salvage yard? She would like to park her brand new vehicle in the garage for winter and she has no room to continue to keep it.

The level of rust really is a make or break issue. Post a few pics of the frame by the skid plate, rear control arms and same up front if you can. Serious cancer in a 4 banger makes for a low buck sale. Parting may bring more but then you have to deal with the obvious of a torn apart pile of scrap on the property. Far as the 5000 responses....typical these days especially if its on Fxxx book marketplace.
