Gentlemen, I would like to introduce you to my 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0 Special Edition. This vehicle has been in my family for a LONG time and is special to me. When I was only 26, I purchased this vehicle for my father (my credit, but he made the payments) in 2001 when a bad divorce ruined his credit a few years before. He liked the body style, and asked me to pick one out for him on a dealer lot that had several of these. This one was the best. He immediately liked it, and kept this vehicle longer than any other vehicle he has ever owned. Sadly, he passed away a couple of years ago, and it came back to me. Since it was kept under a carport, it is in fantastic condition for a vehicle of this age and so I have decided to keep it.

Since then, I have done a few cosmetic modifications on the exterior to make it mine. I tinted the windows and replaced the grille and roof rack from a 5.9 Limited. And I added a small lift and replaced the tires. The wheels came from a 2001 Jeep Cherokee.

Nah.

Myself, I only read a part of something and come to the wrong conclusion on days that end in "Y" 🤪

As to how the 4.7 HO WJ compares to the 5.9 ZJ, they're pretty much a wash with a slight advantage to the 4.7 HO.

The HO makes more power than the 5.9, but the ZJ is a lighter platform.

I had a 2004 Grand Cherokee Overland with the HO (I never should've sold it ) and it was hoot to drive.

I had a ProCal tuner, intake, and full 3" exhaust.

It sounded and ran great.

And to OP, that's a beautiful ZJ.

Love me some solid axle Grand Cherokees

I was thinking about adding two pinstripes above the door handles that wrap around the entire Jeep, like what is seen on many factory models. I would go with charcoal, to match the (Agate) interior.

Do you think that would make the white Grand look better?

Or, do you think not?

If you like the way it looks then I say go for it. I owned a 95 ZJ many many years ago with the 4.0 and it was one of my favorite jeeps. Mine had the pinstripes your talking about adding to yours.
