Installing a new radio on my 97 TJ and I was wondering if this CCD Bus connector has another plug inside the vehicle or if it attaches to the radio?

Wonder if this is a quirk of the 97s. CCD is Chrysler collision detection bus... suppose to go to the cluster, PCM and airbag module...no mention of it going to the radio...

I don't recall seeing that connector on my 97...but my PO installed an aftermarket radio (that I reinstalled because rat tailed connections wrapped in electrical tape didn't meet my standards.)

Safe to say it doesn't go anywhere.

Wonder if the factory radio did something when the airbags deployed like a noise. Hmm.

If I do remember correctly there was some kind of difference in the 1997 models? My MDH is 042217 315 and my MFR is 04-96 so there may be something with that.

That wouldn’t explain the Service Manual for 97’ having the connector. I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t driving around causing issues.

Another thing to mention is sometimes the Gauges will simply just not work then an airbag light will display but a quick wack to the floor kick panel and it’s all working good as new.

I added some pictures of the crap that was pulled on my headunit before me. Not to mention there was a piece of house wire running through my jeep to my cluster….

Looks like my previous mess.

You've got a ground wire down in the driver's side by the clutch switch wire connector. Might be where you're kicking.

Faulty ground didn’t even really cross my mind for some reason. I’ll check it out later!

I checked my Tub ground underneath all the Connectors and that appeared to be good. I also checked my ground to the left front Speaker area.

I also want to mention my front and rear left speakers are not getting power

It's that or start tracing and ohming and continuity checking wires.

The Factory Service Manuals are in the resources section. 8w is the wiring diagrams.

Study then. See if you can find a common place they're all close to... like the giant connector block.

Any tips for continuity and resistance? Connector to Connector? Is there a simpler way?
