Looking for new wheels that can take abuse, hold the bead well, non-beadlocks.

Should be 17X9 with 4.5" backspacing. Most likely polished, but haven't ruled out black or gray.

You can always run factory JK/JL/JT wheels.

The marketplace is full of takeoffs and they are very cheap in case you destroy one and need to replace it.

I once got a set of 5 JK Moabs for $20.

I’ve only found 2 that somewhat fill that don’t look ugly.

I have ended up with 5 jk Moab’s for 75 bucks and 2inch adapters till I can stomach the weight of beadlocks or someone makes a good non bead lock wheel.

This one is cool since you can do no bead lock or bead lock but at the weight added it defeats the advantage of non beadlocks.

Have you considered the coyote internal beadlocks

If you cram a 12.5" wide tire on a 7" wide wheel it holds the bead pretty well in my experience!

Damn right
These are R15's but same concept,The discount tire guys kinda told me about that.....about the tight fit on the 15x7s 12.5 wide tire 😆

I know of couple guys that run the Method bead grip wheels and they seem pretty happy,Not a true beadlock but they can get to single digit PSI range and not debead like they would running 9 psi on a non beadgrip&beadlock wheel!
Same with the "Icon" rebounds they have bolts that grip the wheel

I ran 8psi without beadlocks or anything other than normal wheels for years and can count my number of lost beads on about four fingers.

Yeah my target is 8psi and I've never lost a bead. I've seen it as low as 4 from burping air on the trail when I went to air back up 😱

On a Tj I can see that cause it's light ! Edit- Depending the setup but even with bigger axles/tures you could be fine ? I dunno

But i shoulda mentioned that the wheels ive seen these on are on newer jeeps I run with,I'm talking jl's/Jts with all the fancy bells&whistles (overlanding stuff,Alot more weight etc.) And I've yet to see one debead with the method bead grip wheels running single digits or 11 ish PSI. Since those guys feel like they shouldn't go too low for what they've been through. Thats what I got told

Me Personally I've been down to 7 psi no issues what so ever 😁

What I've noticed when people debead is because
A. They're running too low of psi
B. Their rig is heavy as hell
C. Being off camber, mixed with rocks being in the way just seemingly peeling that tire off the wheel
D. All the above causing a perfect recipe for a debead
E. Being dumb....

At the end of the day, you solve the problems you have. Being dumb and being an overlander are two unfixable problems I don't have.

One perfect recipe for debeading a front tire I have identified is a low psi with a locked rear end while making a hard turn on Moab slick rock. That will peel off the front outside tire.
