Weak.

They are a local to me shop. I don't have any experience with them, but I remember seeing him running a white or silver 2 door turbo XJ at a drag strip probably 15 years ago. That thing looked nearly stock but would pull the front left tire. It was a complete shock.

That’s too bad. Wheelie bars really screw up the departure angle. 🤣

That's easy to fix...if you're using ram assist steering you could just hook up a spool valve to a couple of hydraulic cylinders in the rear and have adjustable wheelie bars. I'm sure PSC would love you.

No wheelie bar needed. It wasn't pulling that hard, but it did sound good. I can't remember what times he was running, but it wasn't slow.

This isn't his Jeep, but it looked somewhat like this one. Just a solid color with no markings, and I think it had stock Jeep wheels.

I like your thinking. Do they make MTR’s that small? 😂

I can imagine how much fun that ride is. Reminds me of my V8 swapped Chevy LUV I had in high school. It ran high 10’s low 11’s. My guess he was pretty close to that.

I remember new (then) Chargers and Challengers running that day, and Corvettes (I can't remember if 5th gen Camaros were out yet) He was running with them, so I'd say somewhere around the 10 mark.

Somebody, maybe Newcomer, had a supercharged SRT8 Cherokee there that day that was pulling both front tires and blowing doors off. That thing was fast. I think it was dipping into the upper 8s.

I grew up at the drag strip, but 8’s is too much pucker factor for me.

So sad that The 2nd muscle car era is almost dead.
R.I.P. American muscle.
