I know it's hard to diagnose issues from video but I don't know how to describe this sound so please take a listen and bear with me.

I've been chasing this sound for over a year and I'm at a loss. This sound only happens when it has been driven a while and had time to heat up (seems to take longer to make noise in colder weather). The noise only happens when you come to a stop and then turn sharp left or right especially when you are going up an incline. Then as I straighten the wheel this noise stops. If I come to a complete stop and then go straight there is no noise whatsoever, only when turning.

I've checked the diff and everything looks fine, I've replaced the wheel bearings, both axle shafts, and I've done the conversion from rear drum brakes to disc (black magic brakes kit).

Again I appreciate any help, I'm just at a complete loss.

Certainly sounds like the axle and rotor are moving in and out causing a rub.
What about the e-brake?

What about the e-brake?

The e-brake is brand new, but I was worried it could be causing it so I loosened the e-brake and still have the same issue. I might should add that when I was loosening the e-brake I noticed that turning the rotor by hand was difficult even with the e-brake cables completely loosened at the splitter. Once I put the wheel back on it turned easier but doesn’t spin freely for long before the drag stops it.

Unlike drum brakes, I don't think the (drum brake) e-brake is supposed to drag when not being used.

If your jeep has a trac loc in the rear it could be that. My jeep did the same exact thing as yours and it was the broken clutches piling up on each other and binding the rear diff.

I would put it in the air and run it in gear, look at the rotor and caliper to verify it is true. Then I would slow down the left wheel (block of wood ) and listen to the differential. From the symptoms you describe it sounds like a limited slip clutch issue.

My jeep makes this noise only after it’s been driven and it’s heated up. Only on reverse/ backing up. Can’t figure out what it is.
