I told my wife I was getting new fenders/flares. She said, “those things that hang off the back?” Realizing she thought I was talking about mud flaps, I said, “No, remember I folded over that fender on my last trip?” She said, “oh, yeah, how much is that going to cost?” I said, “I’m not replacing them, I’m just going to cut them off and do something else.” She said, “so you’re going to circumcise your Jeep?” 🤣

I guess I watched too many TV shows that talked about the boy getting circumcised at 12 0r 13.

Those would be Muslims!

The shows I've seen have been with Jewish people. But of course I'm sure they didn't have their fact correct.

I've got one of those stories about getting your kid circumcised. The doctor at the Air Force hospital where my son was born didn't believe in doing it and was giving my wife shit about it. I wasn't there so he had her crying when I walked in. And military doctors are all officers so I had to watch how I went off on the guy. But I gave him a piece of my mind.

Then when my son was about 6 months old we were going out on our first date since he'd been born. Left him with some friends who had a little boy also. We come back to pick him up and the wife of the couple we'd left him with is freaking out. She was changing his diaper and had pulled the skin back to clean around the tip of his penis. Well the circumcision hadn't been done correctly and a part of the skin had pulled lose. So now he has this open sore in the end of his penis. Poor kid every time he'd pee he'd scream because it hurt. So he got to crawl around on the floor naked for about a week until it had healed enough.

It’s tough being little, but the good thing is we dont remember!

I'm thinking of removing the spare and just carrying the Safety Tire plug kit and a valve stem repair kit. I hate the damn spare back there. I scrape it in some of the deep ravines we go through up here. I have never had a flat before. Only danger I see is a sidewall slash. In its place I want to get the Savvy Aluminum Armor for the rear, but I have the vent, and the armor does not have the vent. However, I run a 97-02 hardtop, which has vents on the side, so I don't think the vent on the tailgate is necessary. What are your thoughts?

I am running the tailgate armor and just measured out the vent and cut to spec. Its not too bad. Most difficult part is matching the notch correctly and not removing too much material. You are correct though ' 87-02 hardtop will not need the vent cutout in the tailgate.

I second this. Just cut it out, or get a new door if it really bothers the OCD.

@tidelaney got a pic of your armor with the cutout?

I've been running without a spare for the 3 years I had my TSL SX tires and only once did I wish I'd had a spare and that was when I broke a rim. But that doesn't happen very often. Because I have beadlocks if I was to tear a sidewall I can pull the tire and patch it from the inside. I have also looked into using an inner tube as a emergency way to get it off the trail.
I have seen some really long slashes in a sidewall be repaired with a tire plug kit before.

You CANNOT patch this.

The center just broke out of this wheel. Now in defense of the maker of this center I'd not gotten two of the wheels centered very well when I welded them up so they wobbled like clown wheels. And I think the stress from that is what caused this to happen.

I'd carry a could kits with you if you decide to go spareless. I'll see if I can find a picture of a sidewall we repaired on the trail.
