    New Lift, Bad Ride

Steep LCA would indicate wrong springs? I’ll measure springs top to bottom as soon as I’m home from this trip, Wednesday.

    New Lift, Bad Ride

Co Could it be that this kit/springs are too stiff for the weight of the Jeep? My jeep has absolutely nothing on it other than pretty conservative front and rear bumper. It has no back seat, and a soft top, and nothing in the trunk. Maybe adding weight somewhere would help? Trying to think of...

    New Lift, Bad Ride

So, I had to leave for a trip yesterday morning, but was able to do this test before I left. I didn’t want to remove the shock boots yet in case I need to go back to the shop to have them replaced, but I pushed them down as far as I could to get a zip tie fairly close to the shock body. I did...

    New Lift, Bad Ride

Hmm I’ll check that in the daylight tomorrow. Didn’t really notice it, it could just be a lighting thing but I’ll run my finger over it to see if there’s any texture

    New Lift, Bad Ride

Ok so I can see how to measure how much shock shaft is exposed at ride height, but still a little confused about what to measure for the bumpstop comparison. As an example in this pic, am I measuring from the cup holding the rubber on top of the spring, down to where that rubber would impact if...

    New Lift, Bad Ride

I think technically it’s right, from what I’ve read it sounds like Rancho measurements are a little weird and the “matching” size is usually a little too long. And the Zone combo lift is a 3” suspension lift, the rest of the lift comes from the BL and MML. So I would assume the 2.5” shock is...

    New Lift, Bad Ride

I’m honestly not opposed to just emptying every pocket and doing it right the first time with a tummy tuck. But, instead of going full tummy tuck right now, would removing the MML, and going with a SYE and DC driveshaft accomplish the same thing in moving the shifter to the proper place again...

    New Lift, Bad Ride

Yea I’ve been reading about this in other threads, but given my admittedly lacking knowledge I’m struggling to visualize what I’m supposed to be measuring. And what would be correct vs incorrect. I’d be measuring the length of the shaft from the opening of the cylinder to where it attaches to...

    New Lift, Bad Ride

The Zone 4.25” combo lift comes with a MML, that’s why I’m confused about that. Trans shouldn’t be that far off

    New Lift, Bad Ride

Well, tried this about an hour ago. Tires were indeed pumped up to 35+ psi. Lowered them to around 26-28. Improved the ride marginally. Speed bumps still feel like they’re going to break something. Loud slamming, whole jeep shakes pretty intensely coming back down

    New Lift, Bad Ride

Previous shocks, as far as I’m aware, were original factory shocks. So 20 years. Is there a way for me to tell visually if they’re the RS5000x vs just the 5000? A shop installed this lift/ordered the parts for me, and I made it clear that they needed to be RS5000x’s, so I can’t imagine they...

    New Lift, Bad Ride

So, just had a Zone 4.25” combo lift with Rancho RS5000x shocks installed on my 2006 TJ. There are several issues after driving it for 50 or so miles, but I’m going to have to address one at a time. The ride is absolutely not what I expected. I heard great things about these RS5000X shocks...

Windshield Header Seal - Worth Replacing?

Yea, I think I’ll give it a shot either way. Who knows if it’s ever been replaced. I guess it’s worth the experiment. Now to find one 🤔

Windshield Header Seal - Worth Replacing?

Fellow Jax member. I have heard of some figment issues with the Trektop on LJ’s specifically, which is interesting. This one was flapping like mad too, until I realized the air shouldn’t be on recirculate. Whoops. Zero flapping after changing the aircon settings, but the rushing wind at the seal...

Windshield Header Seal - Worth Replacing?

Well, I originally purchased the Jeep with a hardtop (non-factory), which did leak like a sieve when it rained from the front corners. I didn’t change anything, just got the Bestop and the leaking is no more. I’m not sure if the leaking with the hardtop could be indicative of an issue with the...

Windshield Header Seal - Worth Replacing?

Hey all, I have an 06 with a 2 year old Bestop Trektop NX in Black Diamond material. The top is mostly quiet enough, however I have pretty intense wind noise at 65+ mph. I understand that TJ’s are not quiet, but this seems to be a pretty isolated wind rushing sound very specifically coming from...

    Is this a Dana 44?

Wow look at that, I had no idea that site existed. Just tried it and there ya have it, heavy duty dana 44 rear axle under optional equipment. Awesome, thanks for the tip!

    Is this a Dana 44?

Awesome, thanks a lot everyone. Still new to mechanical stuff so appreciate the info. I’ve never been so excited to see an axle though, totally expected a Dana 35 and some extra work to run a bigger tire after my research. Pumped!

    Is this a Dana 44?

Am I mistaken, or is this a Dana 44? This is an 06 TJ Sport (4.0 6 speed). I think the Dana 44 rear was an option that year for the Sports, or it was aftermarket by previous owner. That’s if it’s even a Dana 44, I have trouble identifying but the bolt pattern seems to line up with reference pictures online.
