When I bought my TJ it had a stored P0133 code so I figured I had a dying O2 sensor (bank 1 upstream sensor circuit slow). Also got the occasional P2096 code. Decided to change the sensor today. Also discovered some loose cat pipe to manifold bolts. I changed the sensor and tightened the...
Here are a couple of pics of todays travels. I decided to hit the desert for awhile.
I call this spot Mom's Mountain. She and Dad visited some years back when she was fighting cancer. I brought them up here in my JKU. She had a blast as 4-LO is required to get up here and she thought it was...
What made you decide to change from the MTL? Problems?
I used the Amsoil MTF in my 08 JKU and had no problems with it.
My TJ is due and trying to decide what to go with. I had almost decided on the Redline until I saw your post.
Installed a Sony XAV-AX4000 receiver along with the Sirius tuner. Went pretty smooth. I went with the 4000 instead of the 3200. After the price increase they are within $50 of each other and the 4000 has a few more features. It will do wireless Android Auto.
Replaced the blown subwoofer with this one. Pretty easy job. I had to remove some of the subwoofer box ribs and the plastic trim on the back of the speaker for a flush fit. I installed it with red/brown as the positive leads and black/gray as negative. Sounds much better even with the...
Sigh.. Started to install a Double Din Sony XAV-AX3200 receiver. Did you know there is an older, obsolete model of this receiver that is not Sirius XM ready? With the same model number? No wonder I got a good deal on it.
Put my dash back together. Back to Walmart it goes.
Got my Toyota kit installed a little while ago. Biggest issue was dropping a headlight bezel screw in the sand and not finding it. Couple of points. I used a step drill to open up the negative connecter for the battery terminal. Mounted the relays on the PDC. Ran the wiring along the...
I can't find the pic now. Someone here posted pics where they ran the harness on the passenger side and mounted the relays on the front of the fuse/relay box. It looked pretty clean and is what I plan on doing.
Thought I would add my experience finding this kit. I did a PN search online and found them at Modern Toyota for $15.51. With tax and shipping it was $33 to my door. One heck of a deal.
Not installed yet but all looks great.
When I changed the multifunction switch earlier, I noticed the...
When I was looking in February the main places I looked were Craigslist, FB Marketplace and a little on Auto Trader. There were actually a fair number to pick from and a few obvious scams. I was looking for something essentially stock.
Found this one 60 miles away on Craigslist. Paid a...
Finally got the fog lights going. Mine were removed sometime in the past, probably due to the flaky multifunction switch. I found some OE fog lights in the marketplace here. I had to repair the wiring then installed them. Next was change the multifunction switch. First one didn't work. I...
Lol! No, that's my "man-cave". We have a house on acreage in Northern NV but I leave the house to the girls. My man-cave is insulated, has heating, cooling, computer, TV, fridge and an easy chair. I'm retired so just a place for me to hang out.
Did a quick "wash" on my TJ using this stuff. First time trying it and I have to say I'm impressed. Also put some Back-To-Black on the fender flares. Yea, the clear coat on the hood is showing it's age.
