    Rubicon Locker Mystery Mod

Get yourself an inversion board Andy and use it when needed. They work by pulling the spine straight from the weight of your upper body pulling downward on it to help stop it from pinching nerves. I have a really bad back including occasionally really sciatica pain from injuring it 35 years ago...

Metalcloak or Savvy in salt environment?

No, that thinking about good flex joints like the Johnny Joint riding stiffer/transfering bumps comes from the Metalcloak ad readers/believers who believe MC's hype about their rubber ("Duraflex" bushings being the only way to get a good ride without vibration and bumps. It's pure bullcrap...

    Rear seat hinge pin broken?

Welded properly it'll be just as strong as before it was broken, if not even a tad stronger.

Metalcloak or Savvy in salt environment?

Go with Savvy which uses the very best flex joint, the Johnny Joint from Currie. MC's is nothing but a rubber bushing inside its housing. Metalcloak calls their bushing Duraflex but that's just their name for rubber. They certainly don't hold up like the Johnny Joint does. My Currie Johnny...

    Rear seat hinge pin broken?

I'd make a few cuts in the material around the broken pin, hold it back with something to give a welder some clearance, and just have a welder weld a replacement on. It wouldn't be a hard weld so even a friend with a welder could do it. Shouldn't cost much, any welding shop could do it in 5-10...

What do think of this e-locker?

The ad says 3.92 and up so that really means 3.92 and down to 5.13 or 5.38. The break point for a Dana 44 is 3.92. Up and down with ratios confuses a lot of people, his ad is just improperly worded.

Coolant not coming to temp after heater core bypass

Absolutely, failsafe thermostats commonly get stuck in the open position. That's why I have long recommended against installing thermostats claiming to be "failsafe"... they're definitely not.

2004 Rubicon Rear Locker Troubleshooting (Air Pump / Pressure Okay)

If you kept your locker unlocked most of the time on the Rubicon trail and mostly relied on just its LSD odds are very good the locker is broken. The Rubicon's rear locker is notorious for breaking if it isn't kept locked on sections of trails that cause its tires to spin and then catch. I keep...

Violent vibrations felt when accelerating, shakes entire transmission

Are both driveshaft u-joints centered between their centering nubs in their yokes? This shows one that is not centered which will cause vibration.

Questions About Yukon Free Spin Kit

I could have sworn my advice to him was simply to "See if you can't fix the vibration first" before plunging into manual hubs. What was wrong with that advice??? I'll continue recommending trying to find the vibrations first before deciding to install manual hubs. If the vibrations persist...

Black TJ with tan or spice hard top

Look for Khaki too, it really looks good on a black Jeep. Sierra has an inexpensive Sailcloth khaki I'm going to be installing soon. This is my Bestop khaki top, the original color it came with new. The last photo is when the top was still new and not yet filthy dirty lol.

    Acceleration Troubles

If you do avoid store brands as that's an important sensor. Personally I'd go for the Mopar 4609153AE or at the least the Standard Motor Products PC243K in the Standard Replacement section at...
