    Hit & run, Jeep victorious

Finally getting around to dealing with this. Progressive wants to total it w/o even looking. Underneath it looks fine, except for the fact that the rear driver spring is completely off the perch. That explains the rake it now has.

What did you do to your TJ today?

No spark. I had spark when I pulled it off the trailer at my house. Time to trace wires.

Needle & seat were working ok when I installed it, or at least I think they were.

What did you do to your TJ today?

After spending a whopping $28 to replace the carb, all the fuel lines, filter, and battery, I'm proud to report that the ATV that had a hard time staying running now won't start at all.

Very interesting. It says that's for a 904 so the dipstick depth is probably correct. I don't love $100 but I may go that route if I ever have to drop mine again. I'd rather have an o-ring than a mess of RTV.

I was thinking I might have sex with the wife this morning, but I got to look at transmission porn instead, so I'm good for a couple of days now.

    Transmission sensor?

Running sluggish and stalling tends to be more of a crank sensor type thing than a transmission thing. As long as the torque converter can spin free then its kinda hard for a transmission issue to cause an engine stall. But then again when computers are involved there aint no telling.

What year FSM is that from? It's wrong in the 97. Here’s from my ATSG with the correct orientation, which matches what you posted. To further confound things, when I drew it in I got it correct, but my intent was to draw it wrong to show how the FSM has it. The kickdown valve is the one...

If I the pan has to come down on something where I have a nonzero chance of ever seeing this jeep again, the deep pan with the drain plug is a requirement, full stop. I'm not sure why I don't just drill a hole in the old pan to drain it less messily, since my intent is to never use it again.

Nice, you're making quick work. Take extra extra extra care when you put the valve body back together. The throttle valve & sleeve in particular are shown incorrectly in the FSM & ATSG book. Since you've gotten it torn down to this level, I would 100% brake clean the fire out of it & dry it...

What did you do to your TJ today?

Haven't had enough stuff break on mine, so I temporarily revoked her garage parking spot while I acquire some half-working 4-wheelers in advance of deer season. First up is a tao tao 125cc for $150 that fires up but won't stay running and the headlights are no longer wired in. Should be a...

I dont know anything about the 2 low kit, but does the new shift pattern require more throw than the stock t-case? IDK how much extra throw our cable shifters can support.

It better seal well, the resting level of the fluid is above the dipstick hole... I have the pre-grommet style and it would never seal up after my rebuild. I ended up using "The Right Stuff" to make it seal. It's bone dry but if if I ever have to drop my trans again I'll have to deal with...
