Winch plate options for the Warn Rock Crawler front bumper?

When I bought my TJ it came with Warn's Rock Crawler front bumper, which I rather like, but over the center section of the bumper was a small hoop with tabs to mount lights, along with some upgraded tow hooks. In order to get my winch on the bumper, I have to get rid of that hoop, which is smack dab in the middle of where the winch need to be. Now Warn has a winch plate listed on their website here, which I dont really love the look of, and was hoping to go with a cleaner look, so I was considering Posion Spider's Fairlead Mount.

Can I just mount the Poison Spider piece in-between the winch and the bumper itself? or do I need some other plate for reinforcement? Or is there a better option altogether?

Is the hoop just conected by the bumper bolts? If so you can. Probably use most winch plates and mount the hoop on top of the plate. I have an AtoZ Fab plate, just liked the look and it's stout.

I have the Warn Rock Crawler stubby version, which came with a simple fairlead mount that just gets sandwiched between the bumper and the winch itself, and does not extend out to the bumper mounting bolts into the frame.

I would expect the same thing to work with the non-stubby version. If your bumper has winch provisions (specifically the bolt holes for the winch to bolt to) then I wouldn't think the full width winch plate would be necessary.

Can you please post a good sharp well-lit (use a flash) close photo of that bumper especially showing the top of it? Are you still running the original front antiswaybar?

Yes Warn comes with a premium price tag too. If you do a search you can find many other brands of winch plates. Heck Harbor Freight even sells one now.

My understanding and it could be wrong was for the winch to clear the swaybar if you were still running a stock bar.

Edit:
This is from the UCF site.
Designed for use with the standard 4 1/2" x 10" mounting pattern (fits Warn and most others). This winch plate sits far enough forward that you can still run the factory sway bar (unlike some others). The design of the front flange complements Hawse or roller fairleads.

So I think some plates sit back more and then you need it raised to clear the swaybar.

A raised winch plate allows it to clear the factory antiswaybar. That particular mount looks like it positions the winch TOO far forward which can worsen the approach angle. I'd either go with a raised winch plate or replace the factory antiswaybar with the Antirock made by Rock Jock that mounts differently and does not require a raised winch mounting plate.

Thanks!! I saw that... but alas its on the other coast!!!...lolol
I have winch plate that I used with my old Warn Rock crawler bumper. It's not the raised style plate, but it does clear the stock sway bar. It's a little rusty and the powdercoat is lifting. It needs to be media blasted and repainted, has a fairlead on it. It's free to you if you cover the shipping.

The raised plate keeps the winch flush with the front edge of the bumper if you are using the stock bumper. I have the Warn front bumper and a raised plate, the Warn bumper sticks out a bit further than the plate, like someone posted above in a photo.
