I got too much weight with the steel rim and tire it's making my tailgate sag. Also noticing it vibrates going over bumps. What's something like this be an ideal fix if I don't have the budget for a swing out tire carrier? My thinking is the stock hinges are not strong enough on my 06. Any advice would be grateful.

I used a 1/4" steel plate to hold my 35" spare with zero tailgate sagging. I also had a bracket made for $20 that held up for 7 years (sold Jeep).

Im still waiting on Savvy to make their Tub Mounted spare tire carrier. Its not like its that difficult, just slap some dom tubing on some Johnny joints and sell it to us tj'ers for 700$

I was looking to take the cheap way out. Looks like the wise route to take is wait a little longer and do it right. Thanks guys.
