Pulled my driveshaft because I have Angry Sparrows. Do my U Joints look okay? I’m not really sure what to look for so I thought I would seek help from those more educated on the forum. The sparrows are gone now that my driveshaft is out.

I should add there was no play at all when the driveshaft was still connected and jeep was jacked up.

It makes no difference what the outside looks like unless they are severely corroded, those are not. If they turn smooth without play they are good.

Edit, pull the caps, they should be clean and greased. If the joints are making noise they'll be obviously dry inside and not move like a greased bearing should.

I'm not seeing any rust-dust coming out from under the bearing caps so there's at least no obvious reason to replace them. I'd clean them up with copious amounts of WD-40 as solvent with some Simple Green for good measure to be able to see the u-joints themselves under the dirt and grime and make a final decision. Pulling the two accessible bearing caps off to inspect the needle bearings is a good idea, make sure you put them back where they came from and that you don't lose any of the needle bearings.

Did anyone read? He said he had noise and with the driveshaft pulled the noise is gone...the noise was described as "sparrows"...why would you not replace them now?
Good catch, I just had u-joints on the mind. With angry sparrows type noise, your centering ball is the culprit. But just rebuild the entire shaft since you already have it apart. The joints probably aren't far behind.

Isn't that a symptom of the centering yoke, not necessarily the u-joints?

Even if 'yes', I'd replace them all, including the centering yoke, just for the peace of mind.

<Oops. Hosejockey61 already made the point.>
