Rough idle at start-up and during idle for a few minutes

Pull the fuel rail out with injectors attached. The injectors have o rings that seal them into the intake. To prime them all you need to do is cycle the key and make the fuel pump turn on. Make sure when you reinstall it you use some grease or Vaseline on the on the o rings.

that makes sense. I didn’t realize the injectors would come out with the rail.

I had mopar insulation as well...it was in rough shape...changed it out and pulled the fuel rail and replaced the o rings that came with the kit...it’s cheap and took an hour. I’d start there

Replaced plugs today. We’re all looking rough and gaps were all over the place.

Also pulled the fuel rail. No leaking when pressurized. Pulled the injectors, cleaned them up and did new o rings. I also cleaned out the fuel rail.

Guess we’ll see if that did anything. I did notice that all the injector bodies had some small hairline cracks in the main body. May be time to replace those.

Cracks in the fuel injectors is pretty normal. If they aren’t leaking you should be fine. As long as it is just in the outside plastic. If your still not getting fuel to them I’d look at replacing the fuel pump. A fuel pressure gauge would help you figure out if it is getting fuel at all.

Between now and the original post, I have also replaced a few vacuum fittings along with my upstream O2s. I have two downstreams coming in along with a new CPS. I also replaced my fuel pump yesterday with a new Bosch unit.

My original issue of idle dropping disappeared for a little while. I recently had a small road trip and after ~160 miles I stopped to fill up. My jeep died pulling in. Started right back up, died in the parking lot. Started back up, died at the pump. Didn’t have an issue after filling up. This lead to the fuel pump change. Fuel pressure is definitely a lot better now.
I did have a major and minor Evap leak leaving work today. I double checked the fittings in the right rear and cleared the code. Has not comeack yet.

What’s still bother me is that my ltft are super high at idle and are under 10 while driving. Stft are fine at all times. I also feel like I am smelling gas, but my post COVID nose is slightly unreliable and I sometimes smell things that aren’t really there.

my scanner is showing that my engine temps are also 194-195 during idle and come up to 205 while driving. I am fairly certain that I installed a 195 specifically from Napa, I think it was a stant. That was only a couple months ago but I cannot remember exactly.

I’ve also noticed that it seems I’m losing some power. My jeep is having trouble holding ~75 with cruise on the highway. This is going up small hills. It has been windy but I don’t think that’s it. Cats are newer (under 2 years maybe) but I haven’t checked them out yet.
