Hey Guys,

I was in my TJ today and noticed there was an unplugged cable near my OBD scanner. I looked up under the dash and didn't see where this could come from. Any thoughts?

Your diagnostic connector pins are corroded AF. Dang.
Yea, got her 5 months ago with 218k miles and it seems like the old owners just used it as a highway commuter for work and nothing else. The doors were never even taken off (until now). You could tell since they were rusted to the hinges.

My guess would be that plug is for an item the Jeep doesn't have. Automatic, AC, something. Again, just my guess.

Yeah, that isn’t factory. Trace the wires back to wherever they go & we can try to figure out what it it is.

Edit: I'm an idiot. That's definitely factory

Are there wires into the rear of your diagnostic plug? The mystery plug has the same number of wires, in the same locations as the corroded diagnostic plug. 5 on one side and 1 on the other.

Disregard my above post, that's definitely factory. Looks like C323 & there's a note that the other side isn't present on soft top 2-speaker vehicles:
