This is what you really need for an SYE or SS SYE:
Used it 3 times. Snap ring pliers used once. (I went SS SYE)
Well, used twice technically but they didn't work on the lock rings. These were brand new hours before they got this work out trying to be lock ring pliers....
They'll still work on the next snap ring but they are not for lock rings...
Can't argue with the comment to buy American if you can.
For $17 and needing them the day-of, these Performance Tools pliers did the job and seem stout enough to handle future projects.
For reasons unknown, the prior owner drilled 15/16 holes into the frame to install the drop pitman arm. So when I removed the bracket, I ended up with this nonsense. And so I ordered some bolts that I thought would fit to keep the frame from collapsing around these huge holes. I didn’t expect it to fit right but i measured correctly with my caliper and it all worked out.
I had a long list prepared in my head, something about reworking a coolant system...but then I seen Andrew Macs post and I thought, who gives a $*@* about a coolant system.
Same here, lol! That was my Saturday afternoon project before I decided to rotate the tires on my sons car. Would have had him do it but he left Wednesday for Navy boot camp
. Been a tough few days for my wife and I. Couldn’t be any more proud of him, just sucks knowing he isn’t coming home anytime soon.

Well, my photos ain't going to be as inspiring as Andrew Mac's. 
That's for sure.
Pulled my old Champion OEM plugs (I put them in at around 50-60000 miles, I don't remember) and the crap aluminum contact distributer cap that I had replaced at the same time and put in some Autolite Iridiums and a good distributor cap with brass contacts.
She now has 126000 on her, and I've noticed a decrease in mpg and drivability. So, it was time, anyway. The old plugs had a clean and consistent burn appearance to them, but some were over .045 gap. Anywya, they are gone and the new iridiums in their place.
A short test drive afterward seemed to confirm an improvement in throttle response, smoother idle, and we'll see about mpg...but, I don't pay too close attention to that anyway. It is what it is.
I also replaced an idler pulley that had been squawking for a bit. No more squawking.
Pulled all the carpet to give it a good deep cleaning, since all I've ever done is vac it out on occasion. Discovered my girl ain't as rust free as I thought. Passenger floorboard showing the effects of stopped up cowl vent leaking into the Jeep. Glad I caught it now and can fix it before she gets too bad.
Now, I'm going to go back and look at Andrew's photos.
Oh, if you made it this far, I painted this little portrait of a friends doggie who passed away recently.

Amazon delivered on its overnight delivery policy. (pun intended) Yesterday I snapped the stud star top off the exhaust manifold stud trying to get the nut off. Luckily the stud was already out of the block at the time. Dorman kit was a nice set of hardware to replace some really beat bolts.
Delivered around 5am. In the block by noon.
Then it was time for a Red Robin's lunch with the wife before the Cup race. Good Sunday to me!
Glad to have one more item of the list. Still not drivable yet...
Ordered Precision Instruments torque wrench so I can get the SS SYE yoke on at 200 ft lbs. Craftsman wrench in the toolbox only goes to 150. Looking forward to the wearing in the new wrench as I tackle the Savvy lift install next.
Delivered around 5am. In the block by noon.

Ordered new front output shaft seal for the transfer case after the current one came out frayed so bad it looking like a koosh ball. Gotta remind myself to double check for remnants before I toss in the new one.

haha I did the same on Sunday as we are forced into another lockdown (must stay at home)...just for a week though...Also washed and polished my TJ...looks sooooo shiny now
Not too bad. Took it slow.
On 33's with about 2.5" of lift I was able to sit cross legged under the Jeep rather than laying on my back which made it so much easier! Obvious the same or more level of clearance could be gained with jackstands. For reference, I'm 5'8"....
Biggest moment for me was that I pulled out the synchronizer gear with the shafts and didn't pay real close attention to the orientation. A lot of researching (youtube and googling) to be sure I put it back in correctly.
Lesson learned would have been leaving it in the Jeep - the shafts come out without removing it. Unfortunately, it fell out of the fork when I put it on the workbench. Learn from my lesson....
Oh, and review my past several posts on the tools needed. Be sure you have the right tools before you tear into it.
Took me most of a day but that included a couple trips to the store (see above posts). If you can work a wrench and snap ring/lock ring pliers, you can do it! Go for it!
Decided to paint my headlight bezels bezels black today (outer and inner)

Also decided to test out the paint (rustoleum textured black) on my rear bumper cap to see how it would look.
Left side painted, right I left temporarily to get a comparison picture. Looks great! Now I just need to do the same for my awful fender flares (and maybe eventually hardtop).
Like @Johnfromphilly I also changed my spark plugs for the first time ever this weekend.
Replaced them with Autolite APP985 platinum plugs that I got on a got on a good sale, another super easy job!
