Novak Conversions Jeep Wrangler TJ engine mounts

What did you do to your TJ today?

This broke today. It was just spinning and clicking when I tried to get it off. At the gas station. ON EMPTY. I didn't live far so I went home and attempted to take it apart. Thankfully it just broke before I spent too much time on it. $12 in stock at Autozone for a new one. Crisis averted.

I never though about this before, but I imagine that one of those aftermarket gas cap cover fuel doors like the one that was on my TJ when I bought it would prevent ultraviolet sunlight from compromising the plastic gas cap like this.

After I bought the gas cap I started window shopping for the ones with the cover doors. I will probably get one soon. Good thinking.

PS: i love the stance of your jeep. What's your lift, wheel and tire size?

Any particular reasons why you went with that JVC over everything else?
Nope not really, it had a Kenwood in it when I got it that looked brand new but wouldn't play! I just looked on Crutchfield and picked one that had hands free blue tooth and ordered it.

Having owned a bunch of jeeps through the years, as long as I can hear the music that's all I care about. A jeep, a soft top a decent radio is all I need!!!

My jeep came with a Kenwood KDC-258U. Few years old. Does the job of making music sound good for now but it doesn't have bluetooth or USB controls. It only has usb control for an Ipod. I've been window shopping for a headunit with bluetooth and/or usb controls.

FINALLY got her back from the shop after nearly 2 months (*insert long rant about warranty companies here*) with a new transmission, new spider gears, and a new set of KO2s. My dog lost her mind when she saw the Jeep in the driveway and I had to take her with me to the car wash.
they keep calling me but they just wont give me a warranty on my 1972 pinto! i tell em that it's on blocks and i cant afford the new trans it needs and with their warranty i could get it fixed....... click.... dial tone.....

Got this guy fixed and now the vents work again. I used a small piece of emission hose and then electrical tape on both sides. Seems to seal sufficiently enough.

Short Version: I had a car that got totaled because of a vacuum leak.

Long version: I had a vacuum leak on a Jaguar X Type. I fixed it myself, but had to take it to a dealer to reset the CEL caused by the vacuum leak. The dealer is over 2 hours away. Fortunately I had an overnight business trip in that area. I arranged for a rental and dropped the car off at the dealer.

At the hotel that night, after picking up my car, we had a torrential downpour. 12 cars got flooded in the hotel parking lot. Mine was one of them. Insurance company totaled the car because all the ECU's got wet. The water was at least a foot higher before I got to my car.

I just wanted the BT phone cause TN and GA both are hands free only states. Far as I know AL is still not.

Nobody should text and drive. I can spot one a mile away. You need hands, brain, and eyes to drive. Texting takes over all three.
I agree completely on the texting and driving, heck it's hard enough for me to text sitting down !!!!!! I wanted for the hands free calling while driving!!!!

I bought my policy from the dealership when I bought the Jeep. Even though the warranty company tried to get out of paying because they claimed I modified my Jeep (30" tires ), they eventually paid up and I have a new transmission. That I bought a Jeep with a bum transmission in the first place is a whole other story.

Was looking at those. I think I saw you mention you had it in another thread. I'm kind of a fan. I don't have iphone or ipod tho. I'm android 4 life.

Reminds me of the old Nakamichi head units I was a huge fan of back in the day.
I couldn't tell you one way or the other as to the Jensen's connectivity to Android *or* Apple - but the linked version does do BT, and there are even versions with CD players if you need that. I just wanted something that would play a USB "Geek Stick", and do AM/FM. The weather band is a nice feature. The relatively uncluttered layout and its ruggedness is "frosting on the cake" so to speak.

I have a JVC in the old Mercedes, that I put in in 2016 - replacing an older JVC unit. Its a nice stereo, but as soon as I found out about its USB capabilities, I mostly stopped using CDs, and just use Geek sticks instead. It has BT that I've never even used. Its also one of those that has dozens of oddly shaped little buttons - I'd rather have the Jensen, but there's no particular reason to replace it (the JVC) yet again. Maybe in 15 years or so...
