Bike Rack Problem

I use this and it’s served me well:

Allen Sports Premier 3-Bike Spare Tire Rack, Model S303 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00C45HQF6/?tag=wranglerorg-20

I typically only have two bikes on it but I have put on three and had no problems. Now I did add a ratchet strap around the middle just for reassurance but nothing ever happened to require it.

To all bikers here,

I got this as a gift from my wife https://parts.mopargenuineparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-thule-517-fork-mount-bicycle-carrier-roof-tcfkm526ab?c=bD0yJm49U2VhcmNoIFJlc3VsdHM=. and I got my Jeep Wrangler few inch lifted that's why it is awkward for a roof rack.

Any suggestions? Sell it and buy hitch type or try it?
I use the hitch mount, too much of a pain in the ass to get it off a lifted Jeep for me. Like @Jack72 said, I also run a little ATV strap through the spare tire to help split the load & keep the racks from swaying around.

I modified a similar bike rack to fit into my hitch receiver and it was a pretty straight forward job. I can take 1 bike or add an extension to take 2. The only downside, and it's common for this type of rack without a swing out, is that I can't open the tailgate with a bike on. I made it low enough though that I can open the tailgate with the rack on and the bike(s) off.
