So theres something going on Venus. They found phosphine within their clouds. Its a huge thing because as far as we know phosphine can only be produced by organic things. So either theres a way to produced it that we are not aware of, or there might be Organic matter able to do organic proceses in venus.

When i say life, I mean stuff like bacteria, microbes, etc.

Whats your thoughts on this? How you think the world would react when we actually find evidence of life on another planet?

If space is infinite, and there are infinite planets the odds of life are nearly 100%. Even intelligent life. If there is intelligent life with tech well beyond our own capable of traveling space quickly, why would they want to come here? Earth would look like a run down Alabama truck stop to them. They would roll up the windows and lock the doors as they passed.

Lol, just like when we pass a bad part of town.

Your comment remind me of the Fermi paradox. If we are not alone, where is everybody?

Theres actually something called the Drake equation, you can get the possible number of intelligent civilizations. Back in the 60’s the number was something like 10, now with so many exoplanets discovered we get about 5,000 posible civilizations. The equation is just meant to put a number on the posibility.

As far as the infinity of space, thats is something we don’t know, our knowledge only tell use that what we see is the visible part, theres probably more. Never the less, odd are there. It would be interesting to see how evolution worked on different life forms, asumming the theory works outside planet earth and there is something.

For some stupid reason we've been trying to locate other life forms in other places for decades.

My question is WTF is wrong with us? You never know what you'll find, how they'll react, or what they want.

What if we find another life form on a much smaller planet than Earth but they are 10 times more powerful than us and are in desperate need of oxygen?

The answer? Goodbye everybody.😱

Reminds me of the movie Arrival. If we ever get indications of intelligent life that can communicate, I think is a risk worth taking. It would be interesting to learn how other species developed under different evolutionary process. Remember that we are here by accident, If that meteor never hitted the earth and destroy the dinosaurs, we would have never evolved and dinosaurs descendants would be roaming the earth.

The Russians landed on Venus, we've sent atmospheric probes. Given that 50+ years have passed it is possible something hitchhiked. The Venera missions are really interesting, first to land on another planet, first to send back images from space and the only probe ever to land on Venus.

I had no idea they did. Wow.

Yup, they send multiple ships, but they only lasted minutes before giving away to venus high heat and pressure. They got one of the first pictures from the surface of venus. The russians were actually winning the space race Untill the Apollo missions. They also send multiple rovers to the moon and brought back samples.

This discovery was done with spectroscopy, not sure what band, but as instrumentation gets better and we see more detail, you can bet more stuff will come up.

It’s not a matter of if there is life on other planets, there IS absolutely life on other planets.

The issue is that even if it is intelligent life, the only way for them to ever visit us would be light speed. If not, they would be traveling forever to get to earth, and by the time they arrived, we might not even exist anymore.

And there within lies one of the biggest problems with long distance space travel. Without light speed, we are really out of luck.

Was always fascinated with this equation. I once asked how many forms of life on earth? How many of those forms strive to go into space, or at least possess ability to send/receive communication, and at what timeline of their existence. Life is finite. We need shots just traveling into anther country.

There is life in other planets, more intelligent than us people on earth.
We are so way behind, just look at us, still driving TJs with missing doors, are you kidding me?
Their vehicle already floats on gravity, ours still crawls on rocks!

I’ve always thought that if there was species intelligent enough to travel the vast distances required to get here it wouldn’t be organic, rather some form of A.I. created long ago.
