Sounds like you would really like the YJ steelies...I once had a 1988 Toyota 4x4 pickup that had the stock steel wheels. I redid those with some graphite colored paint and clear coat, they came out great. Looked darker/better than silver, but not so dark as black. Maybe a consideration?I would rather have the YJ Steel wheels (painted black, which I feel would match my Jeep better), but, those Canyons I found can be had for $100 (5 great condition ones) and are lighter and would break before they ever bent. I'm so torn.
100 seems like a great deal. I paid 120 for 5, overall good condition but clear coat was hazy/yellowed some. Having a lighter wheel is certainly a benefit, too.

The Ravines from an XJ. 1/2" less backspace, 8" wide. Perfect for 31" tires on a TJ. Cash in my pocket and a set of 5 haven't coincided yet, but when they do...I saw a set of Ravines, which I like better, but they were gone couple days later. 250 for that set.
I been looking for 15" x 14" wide rims for a TJ or cj so I can mount 31"-1550-15 tru power tires.
My Jeep came with Canyons, so my opinion might be a bit biased.
White can wear anything. Green, Khaki (like mine) have a hard time with silver anything, IMO. Maybe go dark gray since you want to get away from black??
Well, you could go nuts and paint the Jeep to match the wheels
Actually, I think dark gray would look good with the green. It is dark but not black.
You could do something like this...

Rattle can Duplicolor wheel paint and clearcoat. I agree with Rob, a gray or graphite color would look tits against the green.
Lol, go the complete polar opposite direction! And I do agree though.
I totally agree - When I saw those on your trailer build I thought it was very creative -but on a green Jeep with a black top and interior! That looks freaking awesome.
But on a Green Jeep with my tan color combination, I was aiming to keep it simple. like the Sahara with its canyon wheels. However, my Jeep isn't a Sahara so I don't want to pretend like my Jeep is something it's not.
So I was thinking just go with what came on my Jeep: Ecco rims. But then I come back to how silver just doesn't look as good on my Jeep.
I over think all this stuff. It's a disease!

Don't over think it. If you like the canyon wheels then buy some and put them on your jeep. Don't worry what other people think. And just so you know, in 2002 you could buy a TJ sport off the lot with canyon wheels so they weren't exclusive to the Sahara model (I know cause I bought my first 2002 off the lot from Boardwalk Jeep in Redwood city California and looked at a sport model). I have Rubicon wheels on latest 2002 TJ and I don't care if people think I'm a pretender. I just like the look of the wheels. Lastly the canyon wheels (or other silver wheels) look good on a green jeep in my opinion.

Yes sir I have noticed that! But, my Jeep is an X and not a sport. 'Tis leading to more overthinking. [emoji23]
But yes sir I just need to make my decision! Either Canyons or Eccos. I was kind of leaning toward echoes for the fact that I can find used tires more easily for a 16" rim?
I wish I could throw on Rubi take offs. But those are 17" wheels.
