This weekend, I’ll be doing the u-joints on the front axles and the front axle seals since I think I damaged one last week changing out my front hub assembly’s. Had a good little puddle of diff. oil on the garage floor a day later. That job doesn’t look terribly difficult but I’m certainly not looking forward to it. A little out of my comfort zone but luckily, there’s YouTube!

Beautiful day out. Got a lot done. Engine bay and under carriage got a thorough cleaning (was still muddy and dirty despite washing last week), changed my battery over to a Champion AGM, and swapped the hard top and full doors for soft top and half’s.

Tried out meguires black plastic restorer(whatever they call it). It didn’t make them totally black but they look much better IMO.

I also took the pooch for his first Jeep ride.

went to install a CB mount on the windshield loop, and found the PO had stripped both of the screws out so the torqs would no longer fit. I had to drill them both out, then install Rivnuts.

THEN finish the CB Mount install

Took the damaged hardtop off and put on the factory soft top. For 20 years old (was built in '99 and purchased in '99....even though it's an '00) the top is not toooo bad, but, the side windows were yellowed, drivers side zippers in bad shape, and stitching coming apart. Rear window super yellowed. In the end, I could not put on the drivers side window panel due to zipper and seam damage, so....bought replacement top (fabric only....not the mechanism) from Quadratec for the factory mechanism.

Installed aluminum Softshackle recovery points on my aluminum bumper, cleaned up some wiring, and put an Odessey PC-1500 in.
