Washington Washington members that live to wheel

Yea OnX lists it as a 10/10. Looks like DNR recommends minimum 36" tires, double lockers, body armor, and a winch for Busywild and Rainier Vista which isn't graded on OnX. It's really hard to get a feel for Busywild from videos because it looks like it changes a lot from year to year. Everything else (minus Boat Ramp) looks fun and doable for my TJ in its current or pending form.

Busywild is significantly easier when it is dry. But add in a little rain and it gets real quick.

This is the Silver Fox in it’s more virgin form. @JMT

I actually remember when you posted these. I couldn't have told you it was you or that it was Jeremy's LJ now but I definitely remember.

They show all kinds of things NOT to do... Driving off the road/trail & then poor winching techniques.

That's the major downside to snow wheelers. They go off trail everywhere acting like they aren't damaging anything as they're literally driving over small trees. Stuff like that will get more trails and roads locked up. And then as soon as someone comments as such on their videos that person gets labeled as "soft" or "liberal" or "crybaby" or "I bet you're fun at parties." But then they'll bitch that the roads are gated or they get cited for trespassing or something when they're "not doing anything wrong." 🙄

Goes back to our conversation the other day about being careful who I wheel with.

I commented... So we'll see what happens.

I have always been a proponent of the Tread Lightly philosophy.

Went there just to find your comment and like it! 👍🏼

Here's the YT'ers reply to my comment:

Yea we’ve talked to him. He was new to the group. But what closes the trails is people shooting up signs and trash, drinking and leaving trash everywhere. Thanks for noticing tho. Appreciate you watching.

I mean, that ALSO gets trails closed, he's not wrong. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that they did talk to the guy and try to educate him and teach him good wheeling etiquette.

Yea, innocent until proven differently... And yes those other things also get trails closed but going off the road/trail is what has closed many areas.
