AK's not part of the lower 48 so it doesn't count in this elevation stand off....
Colorado clears it's throat... (ahem)

Damn, CA comes in hard and delivers a knockout blow with the highest peak in the lower 48.

I've lived in NorCal, SoCal, and Western WA and have seen all the mountain ranges first hand but I can't speak to Alaska's peaks. From my perspective anything East of CA is far more impressive. Less pollution/smog to look through (except maybe in Colorado), less communists to deal with (except maybe Colorado), less land use regulations, and finally I live less than 50 miles from Idaho's tallest peaks.AK, Washington and CA all start at elevation zero. They are all more impressive.

Just have to say there's nothing like flying over the Hindu Kush at 3 am with a full moon, biggest mountains I've ever seen wrapped in snow...not a light in sight, door open on a Blackhawk over north eastern Afghanistan...

Moving on from mountain talk, we went to the Christmas train in Elbe last night. While we sat and ate dinner it was a pretty constant stream of crawlers heading into town. Which got me to thinking about the trails up there so I started doing some looking around on OnX and a little on YouTube (need to do more research). Might have to do a trip up there one day and check it out. It's a bit further for me than Tahuya but still less than 2 hours. Looks like I might want to wait for a little better weather so some of the trails aren't under 3 feet of water!
I have not been there yet but know plenty of people who have. It’s extremely muddy this time of year. Busy wild trail iv heard is challenging with most people getting body damage.
Yea OnX lists it as a 10/10. Looks like DNR recommends minimum 36" tires, double lockers, body armor, and a winch for Busywild and Rainier Vista which isn't graded on OnX. It's really hard to get a feel for Busywild from videos because it looks like it changes a lot from year to year. Everything else (minus Boat Ramp) looks fun and doable for my TJ in its current or pending form.
And what form is that? Morphling?!I can’t keep up!
Well, currently built axles, roached 35s, 3" SL +1.25" BL, front TB and steering, bumpers, sliders, and winch. Edit: oh and how could I forget double beadlocks!
Soon to add TT, engine skid, rear TB, GTS, corner armor, better 35s, BBK, PRP seats, and 4" SL
Both forms are very different from the last time you saw it on little 33" ATs lol only Pete has seen any of the changes in person so far.
As long as I keep it changing, my wife doesn't know if I'm done or not! JK she's a trooper!
Yes, got the Yokohama's broken down yesterday and just waiting on tire spoons and some time off. I may not get to installing the new springs for a bit because I will need to have some down time to measure for shocks and wait on them to come in. Planning to wheel a little while my wife is offer for Christmas so I don't want it to be down right now. That all sounds good. I look forward to seeing it and seeing it happen. Seems like better 35’s are coming soon. 4” SL may affect your shock choice. I suspect you’ll get your PRP seats soon and they’ll go in ASAP! Corner armor is an important one. Heck, they’re all important. I need to stop typing and start working myself! Thanks for the update.
