I'm flexible and strong enough to swing my foot on to the rock rails, but I added this for the wife.

A winch above the door works best... lol

it has a cage so you can grab for it and just leap hoping to land in the right place
the steering wheel is also a quick disconnect so you dont worry about hitting yourself on that if it is off

Took a trip with Dad today to Calhoun, Georgia. Visited with fellow forum member @Hog and his better half!!!!!

Got to see her red LJR and delivered a Warn 8274 to Ben.

Had a blast eating in the restaurant Yellow Jacket drive in.


And don't let anyone kid you @Hog can throw down on the cooking!!!!

Any of you Georgia folks within driving distance of Calhoun, its well worth the trip.

If any of y'all watched the show Cheer's that's what the Yellow Jacket will remind you of. Everybody that walked through the door knew Everybody there, and all the staff knew Everybody also.

Just a great down home feel.

I have a spare IAT, TPS, CPS, CPK, MAP, ECT, speed sensor, oil sender, and oem NTK O2 sensors. Also have a spare WranglerFix PCM, Mopar radiator, waterpump, thermostat, Durango 160A alternator, rear Tom Wood's driveshaft, ujoints, wheel studs, and fuel pump sitting inside a spare tank with the splash-back mod. This guarantees that everything else on the rig will break instead.

My current 14’ 7k trailer is 25 years old and has been absolutely used and abused outside of Jeep use to the point the deck looks bent to me. It needs new tires and in reality, all new brake and hub assemblies and that’s polishing a turd. With the axle swap I’m planning on the LJ it’ll be too narrow as well. Not worth sinking money into.

The only other trailer I have that can haul the Jeep is a 34’ gooseneck which is absolutely unreasonable to haul a single Jeep on.

I’ve been searching for a few months for used deals on a 16-20’ bumper pulls rated at 10k plus. These things used seem to list for $4-5k with 8 year old tires and plenty of other issues. They are all junk and the owners think they have a gold mine.

Well a dealer came up on FB marketplace with a new 16+2 dove 10k trailer that pretty much checked the boxes for what I was looking for to haul my Jeeps and compact tractor. A couple text message exchanges later I took the 1.5 hour trip down there to check it out. The one they had advertised was black and that’s what I was going to look at, but it just so happens they had one that was “Arizona Beige Metallic” that was the same price and that is damn close enough to the LJ and was the only one sitting there that looked somewhat clean with dust sitting on it. Ended up picking it up and super pleased with the dealer and the trailer. No hidden BS fees, negotiated price plus tax, that’s it and it was the same price as the used junk I was looking at!

Of course, with all my other trailers having electric or electric over hydraulic jacks, I had to modify this one as the hand cranking took way too long. A 6” long, 1/2” bolt with the threads cut off and a hole drilled for the jack handle gear pin, we’re in business with the hand drill.



Also welded a 3/4” socket on the old jack handle incase manual assistance is required or I forget a drill.

Paint matching the rock slider to the flare and the rest of the armor to the body would look really sharp. Maybe after you get the suspension and axles in.

They’re going to stay bare. I had the front fenders paint “matched” and it’s far enough off to drive me crazy. I’ve also already used the corner armor for its intended purpose and it’s nice to be able to be able to hit it with the DA to get it looking good again. When I powdercoated the flares I had no intention of adding the rest of the aluminum armor. If I were to do it over again I would’ve left those bare as well.

CPK?

I've got most of that as well, minus the alternator, PCM, and radiator. Sensors are about the only thing I'm concerned about. If a O2 or speed sensor fails, I can still get off the trail. You've got to deal with a lot more heat that kills sensors too.
