Curious if there is any alumni of this now defunct company on here. First full time job I had out high school. Minnesota based company with stores only in Minnesota and in Southern California. Speed parts, auto parts, tires was the best place in town to shop for a car guy..

Never heard of them

How is your late 80’s recollection? We had about 30 stores in Souther California- think about 20 or so in Minnesota. Stumbled across an old memento/ news letter I kept from our store. Long time ago… Are little in house was game was customers coming in putting down their part and guessing part numbers/ vehicle …you must be working on a SBC with automatic…3510 starter…here you $24.99. That is stuck in my brain FOREVER!

Don’t remember much of the 80’s. Also didn’t live in Minnesota back then.

I grew up right off Lake Street and Cedar where as a 12 year old kid, I would go in their Cedar store and gaze and dream of buying their shiny chrome parts for a Pontiac GTO I would own someday. I ended up even working for them after working for Champion Auto for several years. In fact, I worked at their Lake Street Super Store which was just east of Hennepin Ave on Lake Street. I am looking to buy a 10,000 Auto Parts sign right now. Btw, I ended up with several GTOs. Tempest and LeMans over the years too:)
