I'd like to better understand the mechanism that is in place which brings these items to our markets. Who is watching the popular items and making the decision to copy them? Given what I know and dealing with a few, I doubt very much that the overseas manufacturers are cherry picking products. It most certainly has to be someone here sending something over to get run through the copy machine. But then what? The odd sounding brand names are what, versions of the first copy?Should be a blast to install. Some good bang for the buck? Hopefully it doesn't blow up in their face if they buy it.

I know how that works. Who sent over the Steinjager piece to get copied? And then after it was copied, how did so many versions of it wind up for sale on Amazon? Are we dealing with one company sticking it in 10 different boxes? Or are there other companies knocking off the knock off of the knock off?Exactly, I know a farm equipment manufacturer that sent 3 5' pull behind PTO Finnish mowers to China, had them cherry picker what was the best of each and build one.
They were cheap pieces of crap, but hey the company sold literally tons of them for 5 years and then dropped them because of all the warranty claims it cost them.

Who decided to copy Sunnyside's recovery points? That one almost seems vindictive somehow. It is a low volume product, low margin, so not the ideal product to copy and throw on eBay, and yet that is what they did.
Do we have the product version of head hunters over here or there even, that just browse forums and other social media to watch for popular stuff to copy?
As I think more about this, it has to come from this side. The copies are far too accurate to be done from pictures. It is far too tedious to reverse engineer it from this side and send over drawings and specs. That just leaves someone purchasing one here and shipping it over to get copied. I also doubt it is done in more than one factory. I think it almost has to be just one and then gets boxed under a bunch of brands.I honestly believe they throw the copied part out under a bunch of names, but they are all made in 1 or 2 plants.
Not sure on the rest.

I confess .. I bought a cheapee .. Just like stated in here many times it looks like the same manufacture just a different box.. The install looked like a slam dunk .. and the only install instructions were on Youtube.. but the alignment was still pretty vague .. After pulling out the factory linkage then installing the aftermarket transfer case shift lever I noticed that when the nut is tight the lever is pushed to the case and won't move ..When I took it apart i didn't notice anything between the lever and the case where the space would have to be, But if you back off the nut the lever is too sloppy .. Also does it with the factory lever .. What am I missing ?I know how that works. Who sent over the Steinjager piece to get copied?
