What did you do to your TJ today?

Haven't had enough stuff break on mine, so I temporarily revoked her garage parking spot while I acquire some half-working 4-wheelers in advance of deer season.

First up is a tao tao 125cc for $150 that fires up but won't stay running and the headlights are no longer wired in. Should be a simple carb cleanup & basic wiring. Then I can prove to Mrs. Hear that I know what I'm doing and I can get a few more. I have a lot of kids, so a single 4-wheeler is going to be a bad time.

No the filler hose is stock, it has done it off and on, but you could position the pump handle so it would not kick off till it was full. Then it started doing it all the time.

I mean it's not a big deal, just aggravating.

John is this a different problem than the one many guys have where if you sink the nozzle all the way in it keeps clicking off?

It seems it doesn't matter where you place the nozzle, it's like the tank isn't venting, when the vent line is ok. I will look at it again when I'm done taking the transfer case skid drop off this week.

Slapped on the OEM half doors I picked up today. I need to replace the chrome hinges, adjust them properly, and install the Motobilt aluminum armor on them. Also need to find a set of OEM soft upper frames. These Rugged Ridge ones are not aligned properly and have the pins bent from new. I've not had anything into the trail doors, but I want the armor just in case.

The UCF trail doors were ok, but I wanted to be able to use the dome light switches and something for my 9-year old daughter easier to open.

Pulled the hard top off the sayonara Sahara and loaded it in my truck to meet a buyer. Not totally happy about what I'm selling it for considering it's got wipers and defrost but it's cash money and that'll do.

Since the Jeep won't have a top I pulled the interior and dash...and further confirmed why this tub and frame are done. There was a formally white towel reinforcing the passenger side floor. I believe that's less classy than screwing down license plates.

Found two more grounds this 2k has vs my 97...one in the passenger kick panel and another landing on the upper center passenger side dash stud.

Found lots of scotch locs. Someone had tapped into the headlight switch and ignition... probably for an alarm...and put it back together badly. The radio illumination circuit had four taps in 8 inches.

Nice to see I can still pull a dash in an hour. Pulling the windshield down and removing the steering wheel really make things easier.

Basic tune-up (cap, rotor, plugs) and replaced a rusted out freeze plug in the head. I thought I was going in for a head gasket replacement due to a bad misfire and spewing coolant below the exhaust manifold. Luckily the two issues were exclusive and easy fixes (other than finding a 7/8" cup plug locally).
