What long arm kit?

So a long arm lift is justified with a six inch lift regardless of if its a wise thing to lift the jeep that much, correct? In hopes of correcting the suspension geometry!

If your interest is in designing and assembling a balanced build where multiple systems are working in a complimentary manner with each other, then there are multiple other factors that might steer you away from a 6" spring lift on a TJ.

Interesting that I find most members on this site will not entertain a build different than what "they like" or deem a "correct lift". For example, if a member would prefer to lift their jeep outside of the "correct lift" parameters of said other members on this site, they get ridiculed, shunned or just plain ignored. I have posted on this site and others like this about a 6" inch lift with questions regarding geometry and use of long arm upgrade only with replies about the desired "correct lift" from said other members. Interesting how closed minded some people can be. So if its not to your liking than there is no other way!!! Well this at least satisfies my curiosity and knowledge seeking from such sites. In my opinion, you should enjoy your jeep and off-roading experience just as you like. There is no one size fits all and your close mindedness with lift size, tire size and any other combo is just your opinion. I am glad that your happy with it and glad its working for you. I will continue enjoying my 6" lift and 35" tires on my TJ.

What some view as being close minded is someone else's hard learned experience and knowledge sharing. As said, don't feel bad for liking what you like. As you use the rig more and learn about some things that it does which you may want to at some point learn to correct, then you may find yourself in a different camp. If that never happens, you're still out there having fun and enjoying your rig so why does it matter to you what anyone else thinks?

If you are interested in improving your knowledge and understanding, do me a favor and go to the middle bolt for the belly skid and measure your frame height to the ground. I'll help you put things into perspective if you want to post that up.

You are more than welcome to solve the issues resulting from a 6" spring lift while also achieving balanced suspension travels within the ranges of motion of the driveshafts and steering. You are also more than welcome to use a long arm kit that will improve the geometry characteristics of lifted short arms while also introducing a new set of poor behaviors resulting from the poor geometry required to design a bolt on kit.

If you are unaware of or are disinterested in addressing these problems because they do not have a meaningful impact for you, then carry on and enjoy your Jeep. I have nothing for you.

such as?

Taking the damn measurement Blaine has asked you for in two different threads now would be a great start.

Chop chop. I want to know where he is going with that :D

The usual for a TJ with 35 - 37" is 4" springs and 1" body. Some do 1.25 or 1.5" body. So that's really close to the 6". Just putting 6" springs on is not the norm. Don't think I've heard anyone say their springs are 6". If you need more clearance than that, then hi line fenders and a sawzall may be the way to go.

I'm on 37" X 12.5", 4" + 1.25", Savvy mid arm kit, outboarded shocks. To allow for enough travel, lots of trimming had to be done.

Long arm just doesn't seem to be the norm for TJ's. I know many JKU/JLU that claim LA is the way to go. Not sure if you can get the Savvy mid arm anymore, but that's probably what your after. 7 arms with Johnny joints. If you told someone it was a LA, they would not question you.

The previous owner of my LJ put on a Teraflex 4" LA. Seemed like the arms were always getting pinned on the rocks. Handled decent on the street though.

Closed minded.

There's a few pages on FB where he'd fit right in, so there is hope still. Saw one just this morning. Gent saying he has enough lift to clear 37's with 9 degrees of caster on a HP 30 and zero vibes without a hub kit. I don't know if anyone has ever driven a TJ with 9 degrees of caster, but the steering is so heavy from the tires being shoved towards each other it just isn't much fun to drive. Every bit of angle from straight ahead has to lift the rig to turn the tires.

Closed minded maybe! But for your to judge someone based on one or two comments is absolutely absent minded. The whole site is so boring and monotone. I think ill go out and enjoy the lifted jeep with 35's. Ill let you keyboard warriors continue your absent minded critiques of anyone's opinion that differs from yours.

ps.... if Chris wants to delete my account he will do it without my input or yours.
